First Full Day

Hola! Well I just experienced my first full day in Oviedo. I slept in a little, then met a girl named Shelby who goes to UNI and was here last spring studying, and she took us on a little tour of the BEAUTIFUL city. We stumbled upon my new apartment, and, great news, I live right above a mall! We learned a lot that we never would have known without her. Then we came back to the hotel to rest a little bit and then were told via email from the study abroad office to be in the lobby with all of our suitcases at 5pm waiting for our host families to pick us up. Well that failed because, turns out, we aren't meeting our host families until tomorrow at 1:30pm. Kind of a buzz kill but still exciting! So we came back up to our room and hung out until 9:30 when our advisers, Paula and Luna, came to the lobby to pick us up and take us to dinner at a typical Oviedo restuarante. The food was good overall, but guess what I did...I tried squid! It wasn't bad but the texture was chewy and weird. I LOVE Paula and Luna. They're hilarious, so approachable and fun, and very sweet. We had dinner there until after midnight, then went out to try and celebrate one of the girl's birthday...but only one place was open and they gave us free drinks :) Now I'm completely exhausted and heading to bed. Our  placement test is tomorrow morning at 10am and then I'll meet my family and move into my new home at 1:30! I am SOOOO excited :):):):) That's all for now! Miss you all!
