Host Family!

Hola! Lots to tell today, warning! I took my placement test this morning, and tomorrow morning will go to school and get my schedule then have my classes all day. Then we went to the supermercado to get some breakfast. Then we came back to the hotel to wait in the lobby to be picked up by our families! One by one, our madres came to get us :) or course, there was a mix-up with mine. another girl in the group's name is heather...so one of the madres came and what we heard was "heather" but really, she was saying "ellen" with an h sound at the beginning...so I din't recognize my name at all and heather recognized it as her name, so she left with my mom! Later, heather's actual madre came and asked for her and I was like, "uhhh...she left already?" So we called the madre she left with and she had to come all the way back and blah blah blah it was so confusing and soooo much spanish speaking...ha but it worked out and I left with mi madre! Her name is Camino Cabezas Arias. She lives above the mall and supermarket with her boyfriend, Pablo, and her dog, Longo! He's a suuuper long dog but adorable and such a sweetheart. I'm so excited to have a pet! Camino and Pablo are probably in their 40s I'm assuming. They're both so nice and Pablo speaks some English which is very helpful. Camino owns a bar right by our apartment! So I will go there for free lunch every day after school, and I'm guessing dinner a lot too. I ate there today with Camino and Pablo and ate soooo much. I tried calamari...gross. A lot of weird food but I tried it all! Then we went to the supermercado to get me breakfast food and I got to pick whatever i wanted :) Now I'm in the apartment catching up on technology, then unpacking and meeting up with the girls for an official tour of the city through the school. Oh and the campus...GORGEOUS. Everything here is gorgeous and I fall more and more in love every day :) Okay sorry for the novel but this is what everyone has been waiting for I think so there ya go! Miss you all! And I hope people are actually reading these...seeing as no one comments on them:(

Happy to hear you have a pet - can't wait to hear about your classes. Nothing new here but we just skyped so you are already caught up on our lives. Have a good first day of school! Love you - Mom

Sounds like so much fun and so exciting! I can't believe you tried squid... wow, that was brave :) Your host couple sounds fun and I'm so glad you have a doggy to love while you're there. No news from Denver right now, although Jack had his high school interview today so let's hope he gets into one! Everyone here sends their love. Keep writing and telling us your adventures. Love you!! Aunt Susie
